I have just uploaded the files for my latest collection of poetry, Quiet on the Outside Doesn’t Necessarily Mean Quiet on the Inside, for review. That means I should be ready to order proofs in a day or two (after the usual minor revisions). Continue reading

‘Dear Monday…’ Update (5/20/15)
At last, I have added a page to my web site for ‘Dear Monday…’. There you can find a brief description and links to the various places that carry it. (Amazon will show a bit of a delay for shipment of the paperback, as I have had to re-submit my cover file after discovering that they had altered one of the cover elements without notifying me. The file is currently under review, so this should be corrected within a day or two.)
If you purchase a copy on Amazon, you will be able to get the Amazon Kindle e-book for free (at least in the US).
A book launch event somewhere in Seattle is forthcoming, as my friend Lola E. Peters has a new book (The Book of David), and has invited me to join her to launch my book at the same time. Details to follow when I have them.

‘Dear Monday…’ now available!
After a couple rounds of small fixes and edits, ‘Dear Monday…’ is all done! It is available now from CreateSpace; it will be on Amazon within the next few days. I am currently working on a couple of copy editing documents, so I may not get to update my web site right away. But it’s done!

Making progress on ‘Dear Monday…’
I just uploaded the files for ‘Dear Monday…’ for review. I will need to re-upload the cover file; otherwise, I am ready to order proofs.
‘Dear Monday…’ collects the first 365 entries in my ongoing series of letters to the days of the week.
The image you see here is the front cover. I have purposely kept it minimal, neither wanting to resort to the cliché of calendar imagery, nor wanting to pretend that it is a ‘normal’ book by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, when completing the information for bookstores and online retailers, I had to classify it as a personal memoir, as there were no other categories it really fit—and I did not want to have it show up as ‘non-classifiable’ (which is what it defaulted to).
In my mind, the book is a cross between a journal and an art project, requiring a lot on the part of the reader to make it work. Will it work as a book? I don’t know yet—but I have something else in mind if it doesn’t…

Another Update: The Imperfect Document
Well! I have approved the proof, and the paperback edition of The Imperfect Document is now available on CreateSpace: https://www.createspace.com/5339782. (It will still take a few days before it goes live on Amazon proper.)
Update: The Imperfect Document
I spent a good chunk of yesterday working on the Kindle edition of The Imperfect Document. The tricky part was getting the poem of the same name to look right in the Kindle previewer, since its impact partly relies on formatting. But, after two or three tries, I got it to look the way I wanted it to. Continue reading
