This Day
This day
I let my truth be known
I let my voice speak through my fears
I let my heart be revealed
I let the full warmth of you into my life
I let this happen
I let the happiness in

a magnetic poetry moment
May 17th 2013
Packages of memories
narrow escapes
and mental traps—
this tiny mind
makes giants of them all
Calling out in the darkness
frantically searching
for the light of an idea
My frozen heart
seeks your warmth
Yet I double back against myself
cross well-worn ground to wear me down
Regrets may cease, but their stains still linger
as I walk towards the brand new day

These walls
In the morning
I am here
Sounds of life rush in
through open windows
I am reminded
there’s more to life
outside these walls
I cannot see them
They have no shape,
no form,
no mass,
but they exist
I feel their presence
I’ve built these walls
