Music for a sunny day
Yes, it is still February, but, just like February 2014, there are plenty of sunny days to be had. While I am not one of those folks who suffer from SAD (seasonal affective disorder), there is something about bright sunlight coming in through the windows that lifts my mood and gives me extra energy. That, in turn, influences the music I feel like listening to.
With that in mind, here is a brief list of my favorite music to listen to on sunny days: Continue reading
A bunch of questions and answers for no particular reason
I recently found some lists of questions posted by people on Tumblr. I guess the idea is that the people who see the posts then choose one or more questions to ask of the person who posted them. I didn’t feel like doing that, so I just did a quick copy-and-paste into a Word document… Continue reading
An incomplete manifesto
A couple of years ago, before everything seemed to go to shit, I started working on my own manifesto. Since I was originally crafting it for business purposes, I intend to revisit that exercise; in the meantime, this is the list of words/phrases I came up with back then:

Apparently, they recently acquired a huge amount of vinyl from Masa, one of the DJs at KEXP. And when I say “huge”, I’m not exaggerating: there’s a whole section of the vinyl area devoted to it—and I’m told there’s more. Continue reading
Flashback: Elton John Custom Mix
A while back—I’m not exactly sure when—I assembled a playlist of Elton John songs in iTunes. I narrowed down the playlist to CD length so I could listen to it in the car.
Recently, while moving for the second time in less than six months, I gave it a spin. Subsequently, it provided the soundtrack for much of the week I spent taking boxes from old place to new place. Continue reading
Flashback: 50/50 Playlist
As I mentioned in a corresponding post (two in one day!) on my other blog, today is my 50th birthday. Continue reading
Flashback: The Summer of My Discontent, 2012 Edition
Prelude
It has been a while since my last post—over two months, in fact.
I had intended to continue the saga of the Summer of 1987 in my next post—but, alas, real life decided to intervene. (You are forewarned—this could be a long one…) Continue reading
