Also released yesterday is the latest compilation from Camembert Électrique, Source Unknown. Seventy-four pieces from as many artists exploring the idea of sound as an orphaned archive: fragments of forgotten memories, unidentified transmissions, damaged recordings, imaginary documents, traces of events that may or may not have happened.

My contribution is a piece called “The infamous limburger incident”. Because the call for contributions indicated a 10-minute limit, I edited my original 15-minute piece down to a more succinct three and a half minutes. In keeping with the theme of fragments, I treated this edit as skipping all the exposition and going straight to the imaginary incident and its immediate aftermath.

New sounds: Pulverism

Camembert Électrique in France have released their latest compilation, Low Pressure Systems. The compilation is “dedicated to slow, dense and immersive sonic forms.”

Among the pieces included is Pulverism, which I recorded back in March. For the compilation, I provided a edited version to fit within the specified 10-minute limit for submissions.

The collection consists of 131 pieces, and is available on Bandcamp as a name-your-price album.
