An incomplete manifesto

A couple of years ago, before everything seemed to go to shit, I started working on my own manifesto. Since I was originally crafting it for business purposes, I intend to revisit that exercise; in the meantime, this is the list of words/phrases I came up with back then:

(in alphabetical order—almost)

authenticity
pretension need not apply

accountability
taking responsibility for what I do

communication
message, not ‘branding’

collaboration

commitment

experimentation & exploration
being willing to try different approaches

flexibility
not being wedded to just one approach/solution

honesty
deception should not be part of the equation

humility
no arrogance or inflated sense of self-importance here

integrity

intelligence
give the audience some credit (don’t see them as ‘consumers’ to be manipulated)

purposefulness
creation with intent, not randomly tossing out stuff to see what sticks

real language
not jargon

To this list I would add:

fairness

sense of humor
don’t take everything so seriously
