Despite getting some decent catch-up sleep last night, I did not feel like going through a bunch of photos several times over today, so I opted instead to copy the rest of the poems to the InDesign documents I set up a little while back.
Looking through old photos is a strange process, a weird mix of surprise and nostalgia. The photos I have accumulated on my computer cover a difficult part of my life; even after deleting a number of photos, I still manage to come across an image here or there that I overlooked, or that reminds me of something I’d prefer to forget. At the same time, I’m also reminded of my willingness to experiment with the medium—my Views from a Parked Car series comes to mind—and that I’d like to publish a photo book some day.
Yesterday was day 4 of finding possible photos to go with the poems that will comprise the next book. I now have the Delicates and Do-overs sections left to go, and then I can move on to my iPhoto libraries.Continue reading
So, I just finished watching The Big Short. Holy crap. I mean, I worked in real estate escrow for nearly five years, so I knew that a lot of people were being suckered into dodgy loans—but the extent of the bullshit that went on around the whole mortgage business is astounding.
