Today’s entry in the Love Notes to the Days of the Week series is no. 359—which means it is almost time to start preparing the ‘Dear Thursday…’ volume for publication, as this coming Thursday will be the last entry for Year Four. I expect to have everything put together and ready to go before the end of November.
Until then, I am putting the finishing touches on 8: Eight-word Poems, and have started sorting through the material for what I am still calling The Lilac Years.
And I must get my proper website back up and running. I had started rebuilding it with the assumption that The Lilac Years would be out around this time, so I have some changes to make to what I have already done. I am aiming for having the basic site back online by the end of the month.
Stay tuned!

Files for the e-book editions have been uploaded to Smashwords and Kindle Direct Publishing for review. I have also uploaded a slightly revised interior to IngramSpark, since I found a numbering error as I was formatting the e-book documents—just the excuse I needed to fix the remaining seven-word poem (which is now eight), and make a word substitution to another poem (so it would make more sense).
I have set up the e-book editions to become available on 27 October from Smashwords and several Amazon sites (US, UK, India, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Japan, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and Australia); they should be available for pre-ordering next week.
The pre-order links and preliminary info from the last update are repeated below.

Finally got the printed proofs today. IngramSpark made a slight change to their proofing procedure, so now you have to approve the e-proof before you can order printed copies—had I known this, I would not have ended up waiting so long to get my proofs. Anyway…

Okay, it’s actually the first notices regarding competitions I have submitted my work to this year; it just so happens that the first two notices—one, really (I have not received the second notice, but the winners have already been announced via Twitter, so…)—are out, and my name appears among neither the winners nor the finalists/runners-up.
This is actually a bit of a relief. For one thing, it means I can raid the material for possible inclusion in my next book. For another, it means that I no longer have to worry about how the books in question would have been presented—that is, about the size, cover design, layout, and typeface selection—or about someone else’s publishing schedule.
None of my other outstanding competitions involve works for publication; in that sense, the pressure is off.

After a cursory check of the soft (PDF) proof, I have ordered print proofs, which I hope to have in hand within the next couple of weeks. Continue reading
I have been working quickly with this one. I spent part of today proofreading a printout, then making the necessary edits. I have already uploaded the interior and book cover PDFs for review; the next step will be proofing. Continue reading
I thought I might collect my eight-word poems from August in chapbook form—until I discovered they took up about 140 pages or so. So… Continue reading
