Today’s prompt is a really long one from NaPoWriMo.net; I shall condense it thusly:
Jim Simmerman’s ‘Twenty Little Poetry Projects’.
Follow the link above for more details.

Dear Monday,
You’re making it awfully difficult to stay home today. I’m hoping you can convince my cold to leave that much more quickly…
Love,
Kevin

Today’s prompt is from NaPoWriMo.net:
…find a news article, and […] write a poem using (mostly, if not only) words from the article.
Today’s entry was a tricky one. I had all sorts of trouble coming up with something I even halfway liked.
In the end, I went with the original prompt from NaPoWriMo.net:
…a poem written from a photograph.
Dear Sunday,
This is probably the one day out of the year when I could successfully pull off a Barry White or Leonard Cohen impression. That almost makes up for all the sneezing…
Love,
Kevin

Today’s entry inadvertently combines prompts from PoeWar:
Write a poem about a natural event.
[W]rite a water poem.
and NaPoWriMo.net:
…give the curtal sonnet a whirl.
Earlier, the prompt explains:
…the curtal sonnet is shorter than the normal, fourteen-line sonnet. Instead, it has a first stanza of six lines, followed by a second stanza of four, and then closes with a half-line.
Dear Saturday,
A nice, quiet day—perfect for taking care of the cold I’ve just caught.
Love,
Kevin

Dear Friday,
Fuck yeah! Homey don’t play that.
Love,
Kevin
