I was recently challenged to write a poem about the floor of a gallery that is being remodelled. Everything here is taken from things written by children on a giant painting of a purple butterfly (or moth). Except for checking the meanings in Google Translate so I could put things in a ‘proper’ order, I have made no changes to the original text (other than any mistakes in copying, that is)…

Today’s napowrimo.net prompt is to write a poem inspired by fortune cookies. After my defeat at the hands of the Day #12 prompt, I needed this one. It’s basically a found poem, with each line taken from actual fortune-cookie fortunes that came up in an image search on Google.

Misprint poem
Recently, I bought an inexpensive laser printer, as I wanted to have to stop spending so much on inkjet cartridges. Well, as much as I like the printer I bought, I haven’t quite got used to its paper feed just yet (it’s not as obvious as inkjet printer feeds are). Consequently, when I try to print something on both sides of a page, I still have to go through a bit of trial and error.
