I have questions (a poem)

Some of the questions that came to mind yesterday…

In a world where everything
has been turned indownupsideout
and the logic of the ‘voices of reason’
turns back on itself more often than an Escher print
how do we find the path that leads to resolution?

When the unredeemable amongst us
claim redemption all for themselves
while the righteous suffer for sins not of their own making
yet somehow still bear the blame
how do we call upon Grace to bless us with her presence?

When we fail to eliminate hatred
from the house of love
then blame the consequences on the hated
without seeing the contradiction
how can we express astonishment when the ‘unthinkable’ takes place?
