The November 25th prompt in The Daily Poet: Day-By-Day Prompts For Your Writing Practice, by Kelli Russell Agodon & Martha Silano, is to ‘[w]rite an experimental poem to all the things in your life that you either worry about, are afraid of, or events that have shaken you up [sic]. Allow the repetition of “dear” to guide you…’ I wouldn’t call any of these ‘experimental’, but I think I have the rest covered…

Business as usual (a poem)
I couldn’t help but watch the news last night…

Recent Reading (Autumn 2014)
I have been doing a lot more reading lately. Much of the time, I feel as though I simply don’t have the time to read—or should be doing something ‘more productive’ instead, but, in the last few weeks, reading has felt like a necessary activity.
So, here are some of the books I have been giving my time to as of late:
Dear Sunday…
Dear Sunday,
I woke up with the rain; now the sun is out. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon.
Love,
Kevin

‘Boy Carrying Toy Gun Shot Dead By Police’ (a poem)
This is why I try as much as possible to avoid the news…
You know… (a poem)
The November 21st prompt in The Daily Poet: Day-By-Day Prompts For Your Writing Practice, by Kelli Russell Agodon & Martha Silano, is to ‘[w]rite a poem to the “You”.’ (I didn’t get to the part about using three of my favorite words, or lots of words with an “oo” sound, though.)
Dear Saturday…
Dear Saturday,
Having two cats in the house means I never have to worry about oversleeping…
Love,
Kevin
