A small experiment. Apart from the stanza to which strikethrough text has been applied, I have not yet edited this poem.

Dear Sunday…
Dear Sunday,
Ah, the ceremonial filling of the pill organizer!
Love,

National Poetry Writing Month 2021, Day 25: On the occasion of this exact moment in time
My Day 25 poem is my response to the NaPoWriMo.net prompt, which is to write a poem about a particular occasion.
Dear Saturday…
Dear Saturday,
I’ve got to start paying closer attention: When did Odo become a changeling again?
Love,
Kevin

National Poetry Writing Month 2021, Day 24: Bloodsucking politicians
My Day 24 poem is my response to the NaPoWriMo.net prompt, which is to find an article about an animal, then replace the name of the animal with something else, and use the resulting text as the basis for a poem. I opted for biting satire; I used this Guardian article about leeches. Is it appropriate? Probably not.
Dear Friday…
Dear Friday,
When a record shop has none of the biggest new releases…
Love,
Kevin

National Poetry Writing Month 2021, Day 23: Taste-less
My Day 23 poem is my response to the NaPoWriMo.net prompt, which is to write a poem that responds to another poem. I chose this piece by S. R. Mason, as it got me thinking about taste and flavors. (Maybe I should have called it ‘Flavor-less’, but I liked the punny quality of ‘Taste-less’.)
Dear Thursday…
Dear Thursday,
Almost lost the plot on this one…
Love,
Kevin

National Poetry Writing Month 2021, Day 22: Maybe that’s why letting go has become easier
My Day 22 poem is my response to the NaPoWriMo.net prompt, which is to ‘write a poem that invokes a specific object as a symbol of a particular time, era, or place.’
National Poetry Writing Month 2021, Day 21: Repetition
My Day 21 poem is my response to the NaPoWriMo.net prompt, which is to write a poem containing lines that have a ‘repetitive setup’.
