Alphabet Poem #21

The U poem.

Unified field theory optics no longer apply, but that never stopped me from ordering another basket of fries

My obsession
with the landing rights
of the housefly
in my kitchen
has made me adept
with hand towels

None of this
would be necessary
if not for the fact
that the cat has lost interest
in pursuing intruders
with the zeal she had last summer

So the task
has fallen to me
your friend and humble narrator
to increase the insect body count
particularly since the spiders
have built their webs outdoors

I prefer a lassez-faire approach to time travel
there’s only one way to go about it, at any rate—
and I am still waiting on that second basket of fries…
