The look in her eyes (a poem)

This one is strange to me, because I do not remember writing it.

A sleeper on a different schedule
the same old face in my mirror
The look in her eyes
far, far away
A step or two in the opposite direction
my eyes closed for too long
Red, red lights
a crack in the lens
a jagged white stripe on the wall
The exception to every rule
nonetheless a surprise
My eyes poor judges of lies
or the look in her eyes
