Today’s napowrimo.net prompt is to write a ‘how-to’ poem. Technically, I have already posted my poem for the day—but that was really a ‘readymade’ poem, so here is one that I just wrote.
1
Stay up all night doing something—having adventures, getting into trouble, reading a book, or whatever.
2
Don’t go to bed, no matter how sleepy you may get.
3
The next morning, don’t get up, because you didn’t go to bed.
4
Go to the library.
5
Find a comfortable chair, preferably in a study room, or in a quiet area near the back.
6
Sit down. Sit back in the chair.
7
Close your eyes, just for a moment.
8
Several hours later, wake up. Wonder how long you’ve been asleep.
9
Repeat 7 and 8 as needed.
