National Poetry Writing Month 2021, Day 20: A recurring theme

My Day 20 poem is my response to the NaPoWriMo.net prompt, which is to write a sijo.

I might have, if you had asked—told you about the way I felt.
The silence, to be honest, is how I cope. You’ve done nothing wrong.
I still hope we’ll be together when the world wakes and we fly.
