Week 2/Sunday meditation: Andy Warhol (a poem)

I did not do the Sunday meditation prompt last week, but I did do this one, which involved responding in some way to the 11 February 1980 entry from Andy Warhol’s diary.

He said she gets sick because
she’s always acting happy no matter what.

I can’t say I know that feeling,
but I do know it can be hard
to keep things in.

What you don’t vent
will come out some other way.

Count on it.

It’s one of those laws of the universe,
like seeing photos of Andy Warhol
with someone who isn’t Elizabeth Taylor,
Liza Minnelli, or Bianca Jagger
is always strange.

One or both of them will always
look sort of alien.
