This morning came too early…
Morning after coffee
the sugar rushes in
yet my eyelids grow heavy
There’s no Caribbean in my room
rain’s been coming down all morning
I’m ready to go back to bed
Tension sits, waiting
Can the crack of thunder
be far behind?
‘Don’t make me wait’
I hear them saying
I know what they mean
