Reconciliation (A poem)

The first line of this poem comes from whatever I was watching yesterday before I dozed off on the sofa…

And on it goes
each moment followed by another
sometimes with something to say
clues to what happened before
to bring us to this place

And when it ends
the biggest secrets come to light
the ones that make the most sense in hindsight
These are the stories we want more of
to take us to that other place

Then there we are
weeks gone by fail to dull the ache
opened up anew by the very sounds we loved
Yes, the future is suddenly clear
far or near, we all arrive at the same place
