An odd way to start the day. Oh, well…

I’m tamping down my expectations
It’s safer that way
Not exciting
but safer

Nobody wants to lose
but that’s the way it goes
until defeat becomes the expectation

It’s hard to look the other way
when that’s where the bullets are coming from
and wounds never seem to heal

So I’m tamping down my expectations
