Sometimes…

It’s hard to believe what we see
when premeditation is in control
calculated in its execution
documented for posterity

At first, it looks false
(How could anybody not be noticing this?)
but then we recognize the setting
and know what comes next

Still, it’s a shock
it’s a surprise
As the scene plays out
