The constellation (a poem)

Attended a family constellation session yesterday. I was not the focus, but I was a participant. This poem reflects my experience…

We stand close
but we stand apart
We are here together in this same space
but afraid to speak heart-to-heart

You are beside me
she is behind me
but I feel apart from it all
as though nobody sees me

And here in this space
as we move around
I’m still at a distance
without what you have found

There was a moment when our eyes met
but I felt you looked through me
and I remained unseen
as though you never knew me
