Hour five poem, from the prompts:
Wine glass—
empty
Satchel—
packed
Nail—
hammered
Space—
blocked out
Hardback—
set aside
There’s no time for reading
Vines have consumed the oak
and strangled its roots
Now they’ve come for the castle
But the fortress has emptied
its occupants taken to the pavement
and to the courts, if need be
Along the way
they’ll plant sunflowers
