I had hoped to imagine something a bit more profound, but this is what I got…

Imagine going to bed
having left the book opened
to the last page you read
and the first page
of the next chapter

Imagine getting up the next morning
to find all the ink disappeared
leaving textured beige
still bound at the spine
next to the coffee cup ring
