How to move your elephant during a pandemic (a poem)

Maybe this will have some kind of use…

He (it’s always a he)
will resist at first

He’s don’t like being told
what they should do

They’re as stubborn as mules
but, you know…

You have to make him
think it’s his idea

Only then
will he make a move

Because he’s very sensitive
despite his thick skin

The slightest thing
will bother him to no end

He has to get down there
in the mud and muck
get covered in it
get dirty
before he’ll feel comfortable

And keep him well-fed
only then
will he make a move

But you have to make him think
it’s his idea—
then he’ll follow you anywhere
