The napowrimo.net prompt for day 16 is to ‘write a poem of over-the-top compliments. Pick a person, place, or thing you love, and praise it in the most effusive way you can.’ Not feeling terribly effusive today…

You may very well have been that moment
in the movie where she closes her eyes
and says ‘yes’ and the music swells to squeeze tears

That was always the part I missed
because I was out in the lobby
buying Dr. Pepper and Red Vines
