Dreaming in colour (a poem)

Written while watching the DVD that comes with At the End of a Century by The Art of Noise…

Hanging out with Madonna
in a two-room flat
above a garage
listening to Deee-Lite and Debussy
and playing backgammon
while the makeup artist works

The tiles lining the concourse
form mysterious shapes
the light on the drive
blinks in time with the music

Diver meets pool
dancer whirls, twirls, and swirls
setting a new century on its ear
