Last night was stormy; today absolutely nothing happened…
Some things take a long time to unfold
I always get hung up on the creases
even though I tell myself not to
that it all evens out eventually
Some days it’s relentless
nothing has changed from the day before
Or maybe everything has
and I’m just not seeing it
Still I get restless, itching to move
out from under the weight
I have expectations
I hate expectations
I expect things to be different
and they shatter to bits
in car-accident slow motion
This is the infinite silence
immediately after

I love the slow rhythm of this poem, the quietly accepting tone.. Beautiful writing
Thanks. The day has had that kind of feeling.
