NYD (a poem)

A new year begins…

When I opened the blinds this morning
the sun was bright
and the sky was clear and blue

Now its all dark
and endless grey
to remind me I miss you

I thought maybe this was the start
of better days ahead

I wonder now if I should spend tomorrow
here at home, in bed

But no, tomorrow never comes
and tomorrow never knows

So I will open the blinds in the morning
and see where the day goes
