Seepage (a poem)

Some truths emerge gradually…

It’s so sad to sleep
through all the best dreams
but be stuck in the ones
that lurch you from place to place
catching your coat on improbable details
and still wake up the next morning
remembering nothing

Weeds poke through the small rocks
that constitute the substitute for a yard
I will have to take care of them before spring

My world is a very different place now
