The you I knew (a poem)

Noticing differences between then and now…

The you I knew
would open windows for circulation
to get a good cross-breeze going

The you I knew
would cringe at the thought
of putting back dirty utensils

The you I knew
would complain about dirty dishes
left in the sink without soaking

The you I knew
would close the lids
of the spice containers

The you I knew
would refrigerate after opening

The you I knew
would insist on vacuuming

The you I knew
would not tolerate clutter

So who was this you
who was living with you?
