In suspension (a poem)

An oddly quiet day…

Floating through the world
in a small chamber
atop a structure of flesh and bones

Feeling the moment
surrounded by existence
in all its forms and residues

Beyond the chamber
infinite space segmented
into rooms, buildings, roads, and sky

At the center of my universe
infinite space segmented
into hopes, dreams, fears, and doubts

Each one a world
undefined
uncertain
unrelenting
wanting to expand in all directions

but resigned to fighting for survival
in a small chamber
atop a structure of flesh and bones
