There’s a half-moon in the sky tonight…

[Blue sky]
The division is sharp
a straight line down the middle

the hidden half visible
for the moment

All is clear around the circle
suspended in a deep blue sea

the clouds allowing plenty of space
until the chaos subsides

[Dark clouds]
The clouds have drawn close
around the lunar corpse

What’s happening is all too clear
and all too incredible

By morning the half-moon will be gone
replaced by volatile clouds, turbulent winds

and unprecedented flooding—
a veritable storm of the century
