When the lights go out
all I want to see
is a flash in my dreams
as something big and fantastic happens

          and the end comes in an explosive way

Don’t wake me up when it’s over
Remember, the sleep of the dead
goes on and on and on
and won’t be disturbed by anyone

          Pretend I was someone you loved very much
          and leave a stone when you go

I will be asleep and dreaming
of a moment suspended in time
when everything was right with the world
one perfect moment

          an evening spent with you
          when you fell asleep in my arms
