Today’s NaPoWriMo.net prompt is to write a palinode, a retraction of something in an earlier poem. I opted for a follow-up to my earlier poem, The man in Reno vs the Man in Black.

Johnny and I
we cooked up the whole thing
His leg is just fine
and I’ve never even set foot in Reno
Yeah, the rehab story
was just a plant
He’s been gone awhile
we figured his career
needed a boost
