Day of departure (a poem)
Written this afternoon while waiting for the Music of Remembrance spring concert to begin. I was specifically inspired by mention of a diary entry describing a Japanese American family’s last night at home before leaving for the Puyallup temporary detention site (and then the Minidoka camp).
