not even a nimble switch

as the light goes down
and colours fade for the night

imagine what words she might say
that could save you

no, there’s no being saved
fantasy twists take dark turns

orbits only aim to meet
somewhere in the middle

imagine what words might save you
if she were to say them

the tunnel and the junction
are an uncontrollable function

of dreams where certainty
mixes with unpredictability

imagine what words you would save
if they came from her
