Margaret said nothing upon leaving (a poem)

Up way too late last night, so not that much energy to write, but I think this time I managed to not repeat any words within the poem.…

She insisted
there were no hard feelings

Tears fell from her eyes
crumpled-up paper littered the floor

an empty glass
lay on its side

a door ajar
every window open

curtains billowing
blood congealing
