Based on a pair of photos I saw on tumblr… 

It’s easy to think of places we’ve been
as suspended in time
to forget that there’s always new construction
going on somewhere

Buildings disappear
New buildings appear in their place
or where the ground used to stand empty

Memory becomes more and more unreliable
the more the landscape changes
the denser the skyline gets

The places we’ve been
become places we’ve never been
