Electron storm (a poem)

A good chunk of today was spent finishing the other project I had going recently, so I didn’t get out again. This is the result of writing while watching an episode of ER

Somebody cried ‘Thunder!’

The crowd froze in place
even though no one said ‘Simon says’

and all was quiet
until the jettisoned spark
fiz z z z z z z z z z z z z z zled
and CRACKled
a c r o s s t h e s u r f a c e

of the pond
that used to be the parking lot

A consequence of stormy weather
is the eeriness of barometric pressure
and tingling all over
