Imaginary Place Poem: Lost and disjointed

On this rainy day, I stayed in…

1
Do you want to know a secret?
They listen to Patsy Cline everywhere

Tonight we’ll start a fire and say goodbye
Take deep breaths

I have faith

2
You don’t know the monster

The monster demands to face its accusers
that’s how it will fall apart

The light comes in when eyes open
disintegrating vampires and obliterating lies

3
No one’s asking you to be Eve
If you need me, you know where to find me

Are you sure this is where you want to be?

4
The blocks of text spilt onto the page
are oddly neutral

They’re just as likely to keep you awake
as they are to put you to sleep

I can’t fall asleep when my mind won’t stay still

5
What makes you think
it will be any different for us?

Temptations come with the territory
