Inspired by an offhand remark by George Michael in a television interview.
The problem of photographs
is that they still rely on memory
to tell the story behind what you see
I don’t want to reduce you
to dimensions I can handle
a flat representation of the real thing
I want immersion
I want it messy
I want to feel your presence when you’re no longer in the room
What I have is a snapshot taken on a whim
a reduction of moment the only moment I remember from that day
before the shopkeeper chased us away
to a fading piece of paper
