Why do they always look at their phones instead of at the mirror?

She always looks bored
as she stares at the mirror
phone in hand
that distant gaze
frozen in place
seemingly unconcerned

as if she can’t afford
to make things clearer
for us to understand
the difficult days
beneath the face
in the mirror, seemingly unconcerned
