Another small break from my series of epistles. I wrote this while waiting for last night’s reading.
I am almost at the end of the big blue book
A heavy piece of equipment it is
enough to anchor my shaky outlook
It’s taped up to protect it from stains and fizz
not to mention wear and tear
A heavy piece of equipment it is
You’d never miss it lying there
In fact, you’d most likely trip
Did I mention no wear and tear?
And the tape is tacky, so it won’t slip
That’s good, because the size makes it hard to hold
In fact, you’re more likely to trip
It would make good fuel, if it got too cold
It’s a perfect surface on which to write
That’s good, because its size makes it hard to hold
You could strain yourself if you didn’t pick it up right
I am almost at the end of the big blue book
It’s a perfect surface on which to write
enough to anchor my shaky outlook
