I’m drawn to her (a poem)

No prompts—just thinking about a couple of people I know…

I’m drawn to her
She is my mirror
she reveals what I can’t see
Behind her face
in my mirror
is a vision of what I could be

I’m drawn to her
She brings me peace
I see safety in her eyes
In the darkness
of that quiet space
she helps me to realize

whatever I do to distract myself
or take to take off the edge
it does me no good to escape
because it’s what I feel
that makes me who I am
and that’s all I need to be

I’m drawn to her
She’s a beautiful soul
she hides nothing out of fear
In her eyes
and through her touch
I know what it means to be here
