The June 21st prompt in The Daily Poet: Day-By-Day Prompts For Your Writing Practice, by Kelli Russell Agodon & Martha Silano, is to write a poem that includes five of the following words: luminous, bedazzling, sunny, saturated, radiant, incandescent, illustrious, bright.
It was a sunny afternoon
the skies bright, blue, and clear
But the streets were saturated with traffic
I just couldn’t get around
so I turned around and went home
This time I’ll step outside
into the light of the radiant sun
and walk to my destination
letting the incandescent green of the surrounding trees
feed my breath and my soul
