Today’s prompt: write a poem based on a non-Greco-Roman myth.
Not wanting to research mythology at 6:01 a.m. (having just got out of bed), I chose to interpret this prompt pretty liberally. It mentions a character from Japanese mythology, and is written as a tanka (of which the haiku is a shortened form)—but that’s about as far as it goes…
Amaterasu
would have had me hiding out
in that deep, dark cave
Every land would be the Land
of the Perpetual Sun
