A Change of Habit

Today’s writing prompt: If you could quit one bad habit instantly without difficulty, which would it be?

My worst habit is probably that of assuming that the worst possible outcome will be the outcome, especially when it comes to anything I want. I find ways to talk myself out of meeting people, applying for jobs, starting projects, and so on, all based on the assumption that I’m doomed to failure in one way or another.

I am working to change this, of course, but this is one of those habits that is not easily undone. It will take constant reminders and small successes to change things for the better.

As with everything else, it’s a process.

I do this too! I used to be really really bad about it. I don’t even know why I began to think this way. But, I literally would just let my mind think the most outlandish ridiculous situations would happen and I didn’t even know why. I think at the time it had a lot to do with the person I was in a relationship with. It is very hard to break out of that mold! I wish the best to you!

I do this too! I think it started as some sort of way to keep myself from being disappointed in case things didn’t go well.
