A combination poem about painting and random phrases

I wrote two poems yesterday, but got too sleepy to post either of them last night. This morning, I typed them into my ongoing Word document; as I was doing so, I thought they seemed related, so I combined them into a single poem…

I can’t leave well enough alone
the colors bleed and blur

Explanations for such behavior
are nowhere to be found

In any event
resemblance to anything
is purely unintentional

What would I liken it to?

I don’t know
I haven’t got a picture in my mind
only these words
that popped in uninvited

Something sits front and center
straddling the contours of my mind
it’s got ideas
bound to drown out
any of my own

That does present a dilemma
