Time for National Poetry Month again, which means it is also time for National Poetry Writing Month, a/k/a NaPoWriMo.

NaPoWriMo, as I see it, is the lesser-known cousin of NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month. Instead of writing a set number of words for the month, though, the goal of NaPoWriMo is to write a poem a day for the 30 days of April.

Though it has been around for a while, apparently, I first heard about NaPoWriMo two years ago. I thought it would be a good diversion from thinking about all the stuff that was going on in my life at the time, so I dove in. For last year’s iteration, I sought out other sources for writing prompts, so that I would have a variety from which to choose on those days where I didn’t like the ‘official’ prompt.
